EVENT SUMMARY
SAKSHAM, a dynamic capacity-building program, was organised by STPI and MSH in Bhubaneswar. SAKSHAM (Strengthening Accelerators and Incubators through Knowledge, Skilling & Handholding for the Advancement of the Make-in-India Tech Startup Ecosystem), a 2-day initiative designed to deepen understanding of the startup ecosystem, was successful in bringing together leaders from various government organisations, industry experts, mentors, startups and incubation managers, driving impactful discussions and knowledge-sharing.
About the training programme:
Day 1 of the SAKSHAM Capacity Building Program for Enablers (in partnership with STPI) set the tone for a transformative journey in strengthening India’s incubation ecosystem.
Graced by the presence of Shri Arvind Kumar, DG, STPI – Software Technology Parks of India, the day unfolded like a masterclass on how incubators can truly shape the startup journey — from ideation to scale-up.
🔹 Sessions delved into the startup lifecycle, nuances of incubation vs. acceleration, funding pathways, compliance, and the critical role of IP.
🔹 Experts brought forward toolkits, frameworks, and investor perspectives, offering actionable strategies for incubators to sharpen their support models.
🔹 Beyond knowledge-sharing, the program fostered deep peer learning, human connections, and a shared vision for enabling trust, resilience, and long-term impact.
With SAKSHAM, MeitY Startup Hub and STPI are building an ecosystem where incubators don’t just support startups, they champion them. Together, we are fueling India’s innovation story.
Day 2 of the SAKSHAM Capacity Building Program for Incubators (in partnership with STPI) focused on deepening the understanding of startup growth and corporate collaboration.
The day began with an inspiring session on the future of emerging industries, setting the stage for conversations on shareholding and equity frameworks — spanning investment instruments, rights and restrictions, exit mechanisms, compliance, and governance practices. These discussions provided incubators with the knowledge to better guide startups through the complex landscape of equity and legal readiness.
The program then shifted towards corporate–startup collaboration, exploring why corporates engage with startups and how incubators can bridge innovation needs. Practical frameworks on pilots, joint ventures, co-development models, as well as matchmaking and monitoring tools, offered participants actionable strategies to foster impactful partnerships.
The day concluded with expert insights and participant reflections, underlining that through SAKSHAM, incubators are not just being trained — they are being empowered to become true catalysts of innovation and startup success.
